Warren, J. (1968). Student Perceptions of College Subcultures. American Educational Research Journal, 5(2), 213-232.
The author conducts a research to identify if a large number of college environments has an effect on students’ awareness in terms of self-understanding, reflectiveness, identity and a search for personal meaning. Warren considered many variables such as the school size, the diversity among subcultures and also students. This is in an effort to make the study as effective as possible. Warren tries to debunk the idea that students’ choice of subcultures identifies strictly their personalities, goals or career paths.
